  • Overview

    *** This is a part-time position***. Under the supervision of the Director of the Disability Resource Center, the Program Associate will provide direct secretarial support to managerial and professional staff; The Program Associate will also assist in accommodation provision and provide overall office administrative assistance.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides secretarial support to the Director, Assistant Director and Disability Services Specialist, as required.
    • Coordinates office operations, including maintenance of filing systems, database monitoring and data entry, monitoring and ordering office supplies and utilizing the Financial Management System (FRS).
    • Provides a welcoming environment for students.
    • Is responsible for scheduling, acquiring, administration, proctoring and return of exams taken in the Disability Resource Center.
    • Coordinates recruitment, scheduling and oversight of note takers and academic aides in the classroom.
    • Trains and supervisors student assistants.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate schedules for graduate and undergraduate student workers to maximize office coverage.
    • Interacts and communicates effectively with other University offices.
    • Answers the telephone promptly and with proper identification. Processes all messages and transfers calls. Coveys information to all who request information about general office policies and procedures.
    • Is responsible for duplication and distribution of all materials.
    • Is responsible for submission of accurate payment vouchers and time sheets to the Payroll Department for all student employees.
    • Gathers and organizes data to assist in preparation of institutional surveys and reports.
    • Secures and safeguards DRC facilities and equipment.
    • Prepares correspondence in the course of official duties.
    • Manages and monitors DRC equipment loan program.
    • Maintains confidential records and files.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree.
    • Computer proficiency with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

    PREFERRED:

    • A minimum of two years' of experience in a higher education setting.
