  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for the organization, administration and supervision of the men's lacrosse program, recruitment of student athletes and for assisting with internal operations of the athletic department including game day supervision. The coach is responsible for ensuring compliance with all university, conference and NCAA policies and procedures.


    • Reviews and interprets applicable conference, state and NCAA regulations in the course of official duties.
    • Plans, prepares and supervises all practices and contests.
    • Recruits student athletes.
    • Maintains essential records and files.
    • Prepares correspondence in the course of official duties.
    • Counsels and advises students; assists in identifying and utilizing available resources.
    • Consults with the supervisor concerning problems encountered in the workplace; makes suggestions for resolution.
    • Supervises the fiscal affairs of the men's lacrosse team; including preparing and recommending the team budget.
    • Monitors equipment and facility needs, safety standards and inventory control.
    • Participates in the selection and supervision of assistant coaches and support staff.
    • Coordinates fund raising and alumni activities.
    • Participates in and coordinates community service projects.
    • Assists in internal operations activities such as record keeping, game day operations and other duties to be assigned.
    • Organizes assigned work and develops appropriate methods for meeting goals and objectives.
    • Continuously reviews and evaluates workload; develops and implements improved methods as required.
    • Develops and recommends an appropriate budget for activities supervised.
    • Analyzes and interprets applicable principles, federal and/or state laws and regulations in the course of duties.
    • Interviews prospective subordinate staff members and makes recommendations concerning selection.
    • May assign and supervise the work of Professional Services Specialists III, IV, and clerical, part­-time and/or student assistants.
    • Monitors the work of students and/or staff; identifies problem areas and takes steps necessary to effect improvement.
    • Prepares clear, technically sound, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations
    • Attends and participates in meetings or college events related to assigned responsibilities.
    • May serve on standing and ad hoc committees.
    • Evaluates schedules of events; recommends changes as indicated.
    • Compiles and analyzes statistical, financial and other data.
    • Represents the college at conferences, meetings, seminars and to the public as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.



    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, particularly as they apply to men's lacrosse recruiting and student athlete eligibility.
    • Successful coaching experience on the collegiate level.
    • Ability to provide game day oversight and supervision for a fall sport.


    • Master's degree.
    • Collegiate head coaching experience.
    • Experience in game day management.
